Manchester Evening News highlights William Hulme's Grammar School's 2011 Examination success

The Department for Education published the national league tables of GCSE and A-Level examination results on 26th January.  We are proud and delighted that the Manchester Evening News was able to name us as one of the highest performing maintained schools/colleges in the Manchester Area.

Hoodies and mobile phones

After the February half-term break the school will be enforcing its uniform code and its policy on mobile phones more robustly. Hoodies will not be worn at any time between 8.30am and 3.15pm. School jumpers may be worn under the blazer and coats may be worn outside during break and lunch times.

Mobile phones may not be used (for any purpose) and should not be seen at the following times:

8.30am - 10.45am

11.05am - 1.05pm

1.55pm - 3.15pm

During break and lunchtimes pupils may use their phones in their form rooms or outside the school buildings. Pupils may not use their phones or MP3 players while moving around the school.

Pupils may not use the camera or video functions on their phones at any time.

Any violation of the above guidelines will result in the phone being taken from the pupil, to be reclaimed from Reception by parents at their convenience, any time between 8.30am and 6.00pm.
