Appeals for school places 2011
If parents wish to exercise their right to appeal to an independent panel against the school's decision not to offer a place, they should make their appeal in writing using the form attached below. Parents are strongly advised to read the guidance notes before filling in their appeal form.
In Year appeals will be heard within thirty school days of the appeal being lodged.
Appeals for school places in 2012
Secondary school Year 7 places will be offered by the Local Authority on 1st March 2012. Appeals against the school's decision not to offer a place must be lodged with the school by 4.00pm on Monday, 16th April 2012.
Primary school Reception Class places will be offered by the Local Authority on 27th April 2012. Appeals against the school's decision not to offer a place must be lodged with the school by 4.00pm on Friday, 25th May 2012.
Nursery applicants do not have a right of appeal.
Secondary school Year 7 appeals will be heard during the week commencing 14th May 2012. Primary and any In Year appeals on hand will be heard during week commencing 25th June 2012.
All supporting documents or information you may wish to use in your case must be received by the Clerk at least 7 days (5 working days) before the date of the hearing. You will be sent the school's evidence at least 7 days (5 working days) before the hearing.
If you need an interpreter, please state this on your appeal form. Simlarly, if you have a disability for which we may need to make adjustments (e.g. wheelchair access) please let us know on the appeal form.
